Overview

Clear all the bubbles hanging from the roof by shooting up bubbles of matching color. At least three bubbles of matching color are needed to blast them out. There are four different difficulty levels with several performance levels. Let's pop the bubbles!

Logging in

If you are a registered user of Playray and have logged in with your nickname, you can start playing right away.

In case you haven't registered yet, the game will assign you a random visitor nickname. A wavy line (~) will appear automatically before your name in order to inform other players that you are not a registered player. By this we make sure that your nickname won't be confused with those of registered users.

Starting the game

You can choose from three levels of difficulty: easy, normal and difficult. When you move mouse on the button of one of these levels of difficulty, the 10 all-time best games played on that level will also be displayed on the screen. Click the button to start the game.

The different levels of difficulty differ from each other in bubble size. At the easy level, bubbles are large, and at the difficult level they are small. Bubble size has a direct impact on how many bubbles fit on the screen, so at the difficult levels there are a lot more bubbles to be popped.

Playing

The purpose of the game is to shoot bubbles of different colors from the bottom of the screen upwards. A bubble that has been shot at can bounce from the edges of the game area. Once a bubble bumps into other bubbles on the screen or into the top of the screen, it stays there. In case a bubble that has been shot forms a group of three or more with other bubbles of the same color, these bubbles pop and disappear from the screen. Also bubbles that are not touching other bubbles or the top of the game area, fall out of the game area.

The purpose of the game is to empty the entire game area of bubbles before all shots have been spent. If you succeed in this, you will be able to enter the next, a more difficult, level. The levels become increasingly difficult in two ways: the number of bubbles of different colors increases, and the number of shots decreases. The game ends when all shots have been used up. (The game also ends if the game area is filled with bubbles.) After the game has ended, you can start a new game by clicking the left mouse button on the game area. By clicking the right mouse button you will get back to the start menu in which you can choose a new level of difficulty.

Counting Points: You will get a point for every bubble that is removed from the screen, both the bubbles popped and the bubbles falling out of the game area. In addition, you will get extra points after a level has been completed: the number of bubbles left multiplied by the number of the level.

Texts and Functions During the Game

During the game, the following information is displayed on the right side of the screen:

Level of difficulty: The level of difficulty of the current game chosen in the beginning of the game (easy/normal/difficult)
Bubbles left: Shows how many bubbles you still have for shooting
Level: The number of the current level
Points: The number of points collected so far
All-time best: The all-time best result at the level of difficulty that is currently being played (the level, the number of points, the record holder's name)

In the bottom right corner, there also are the following buttons:

Show numbers: If you have difficulties in discerning the colors of the bubbles, you can activate the number display function here. Then a number will appear on each bubble which helps you distinguish the bubbles and colors from each other.
End game: By clicking this you can end the current game.
Quit game: Quits the Bubbles game and returns to the front page of Playray
